I like to call Tokyo the Passion Project.
Any obscure, quirky interest you can think of — however niche — there’s almost certainly someone in this city who has dedicated years of their life to it. Not as a hobby. As a calling.
Tokyo is enormous, dense, crawling with tourists — and yet it’s one of the most tasteful cities I’ve ever been in. Everywhere you look, someone has cared deeply about something. A craft, a corner, a cup of coffee. And somehow, beneath all of that, it’s quiet. Unhurried. Moving in a way that’s hard to explain but impossible to miss.
My first visit to Tokyo was on a work trip, and these are some shots from that trip!
